Tamang Heritage Trek

The Tamang Heritage Trail takes you through verdant midlands of Nepal experiencing the beauty of this mountain reigon and the culture of the people who live here. The trail passes through traditional Tamang villages where life, culture and crafts have remained unchanged since the beginning of the settlement. The trail starts eighter from Dhunche or Syabrubesi and passes through Gojng, Gatlang, Chilime, Thuman, Timure and Briddim. The trail may end back in Saybrubesi or follow the Lantang trek from Briddim to Kyangjin.

 Day 1 Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1467 m.) via Trishuli (Nuwakot) takes about eight hours. Stay overnight at home.

Day 2Trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2238m.) via Goljung takes about six hours. Stay overnight at home.

Day 3Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani (2607m.) takes about three hours. Stay overnight at home

Day 4Trek from Tatopani to Thuman (2338m.) via Nagthali (3165m.) and Bimthang takes about five hours. Stay overnight at home

Day 5Trek from Thuman to Briddim (2229m.) via Lingling takes about seven hours. Stay overnight at home

Day 6Briddhim to Trek back to  Syabrubesi . stay over night 

Day 7 syabrubeshi to Drive by bus or jeep to kathamndu 

 Day 1 Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1467 m.) via Trishuli (Nuwakot) takes about eight hours.

You head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syabru Besi passing through Dhunche. Stay overnight at home.

Day 2Trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2238m.) via Goljung takes about six hours.

While trekking you experience of the Tamang culture. You can see scenery from view point. This day you walk through villages. The cultural show at Goljung and Gatlang makes your trekking a memorable one. Gatlang set high on a hillside among terraced fields is a Tamang settlement. One can visit a Tamang monastery and beautiful Parvatikunda Lake at Gatlang. Stay overnight at camp in Gatlang.

Day 3Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani (2607m.) takes about three hours.

On the way you enjoy sightseeing of the Langtang range and Ganesh Himal. At Tatopani, you can take hot bath in a natural hot spring. It is believed that taking a dip into this spring will heal you from your aches and pains. Stay overnight at home

Day 4Trek from Tatopani to Thuman (2338m.) via Nagthali (3165m.) and Bimthang takes about five hours.

The panoramic views of Langtang, Kerung, Ganesh Himal and Sanjen ranges can be distinctly experienced from Nagthali. Stay overnight at home

Day 5Trek from Thuman to Briddim (2229m.) via Lingling takes about seven hours.

You can experience village life of Briddim. Moreover you can enjoy a cultural show performed by community members. Briddim is a Tibetan Buddhist village located in the bosom of the Langtang Himal. Around 43 houses are spread in Z shape. Most of the houses are made up of stone and have roofs of splitshake. Stay overnight at home.

Day 6Briddhim to Trek back to  Syabrubesi . stay over night 

Day 7 syabrubeshi to Drive by bus or jeep to kathamndu
